Big Phfun on this day! Phfrit and I headed out following the river, to the South, in the fog, long about 10:00 or so, headed for the town of Martinez. Why Martinez? For adventure, that's why. Exploring...seeing...doing. We parked downtown and cruised the main drag on foot in the sunshine. I bought Phfrit a beautiful necklace with matching earrings, made out of sterling silver and green turquoise, at a very cool consignment shop. Phfrit bought me a beautiful book called MEN, SHIPS and the SEA at yet another antique shop. We got magnificent deli sandwiches at Luigi's and ate them on the shore of the Carquinez Straight in the cold, biting fog. Scored some dates from a date palm and some pepper from a pepper tree. On the way out of town we stopped and watched an umpire clinic at Alhambra high school. Baseball!! In the winter!! But the sun was shining on the field!! Sausage from Pittsburgh...home before
