Another day in the Big Valley, without Barbara Stanwyk. But there waaaaas me, and there waaaas Phfritzie and we wanted to get oot and aboot this day so the caper became: let's go to Jackson for a Mexican food lunch. Jackson is one of those towns on Hiway 49, in the Gold Country, in Amador County. But we did not go to Jackson; no. Instead, we wound up in the small town of Sutter Creek, about ten miles this side of Jackson, and it has all that Jackson has, but smaller. It was a beautiful day, although by the end of it there would be rain. But for us, in Sutter Creek, it was swell. Did we have the Mexican food lunch? You bet your sweet ass we did! At a joint called Pepita's. Fresh Mexican. I don't usually go for fresh Mexican; I rather prefer down-home dirty Mexican, but try it we did and SPECTACULAR it was. What a bonus! Phfrit had the bean and cheese burrito, with salad on the side, and green sauce. I had the Super burrito filled with carnitas and rice and beans and sour cream, with both red and green sauce covering the whole thing. I could go on and on, but I'll stop here.
