I realize that this is the shortest day of the year, and it seems like it. The shortest day also means the longest night, and it seems like it. These winter days find me dozing off to sleep somewhere around 8:00, and waking up somewhere around 4:00. Sometimes 3:30. Sometimes I can go back to sleep; other times not. Isn't this fascinating?...This morning had more fog than the past two days, thicker, that is, in the morning. But it burned off earlier (around 10:00) and was warmer in the afternoon (59 degrees)...not a cloud in sight, of course....made it upriver to give A.Eve her Christmas gift and score some jumper cables and buy some Pellegrino sparkling water and talk with Oto in Freeport about my van...Autumn has been organizing my collection of photographs these past two
